Summer School
When I was 8 years old my parents made me attend summer school to pass the time. You don’t have to do any work, it was supposed to be all fun and games but I was utterly miserable. From the very first day I was bullied by a group of 6 boys. I was just a little girl and 6 boys decided to gang up on me for no reason. They would hit me, throw things at me and take my stuff all the time. They were careful not to punch too hard so to not leave any marks. All this happened in plain view of the teachers. I reported them every day but the teachers would simply give them a stern talk and tell them not to do it again. They never gave them any punishments or even called their parents. Even when I cried to my parents and begged them to do something they didn’t take it seriously. Everyone thought it was all just harmless teasing and the teachers probably didn’t want to get on the parents’ bad side. Everywhere I’ve been I notice that teachers these days are afraid of reporting students. If they don’t punish students that directly bother them how can they be expected to punish them for bullying others? No wonder so many people get bullied, no one even bothers to dicipline children anymore.
